Corpse Reviver #2 – Olimax' Extreme Lunching

Corpse Reviver #2

As may be assumed from its title, the chief purpose of a Corpse Reviver #2 is to rouse the drinker back from the dead. It can certainly work a treat, the morning after a lively wake.

It has a long but forgotten history from at least the late 19th century but was brought back to life in 1930 when it featured in Harry Craddock’s seminal tome, The Savoy Cocktail Book. In there he warns:
“Four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again.”

  • Absinthe
  • 24 ml London dry gin
  • 24 ml Lillet Blanc
  • 24 ml Cointreau
  • 24 ml fresh lemon juice

Swirl a small amount of Absinthe around in a chilled Nick and Nora glass to coat the inside, then discard the excess. Shake the gin, Lillet, Cointreau and lemon juice with ice then sieve into the Absinthe-rinsed glass. Sip slowly and arise.
